Brand Identity

ASANTE is the Swahili word for THANK YOU and thus gratitude and recognition. GENDER ACTION is about active engagement, participation and advocacy for change at both individual and systemic levels.

Colour – PURPLE was selected as among its meanings are: creativity, wisdom, dignity, pride and peace. These are all aligned to gender action and social cohesion.

Symbol – the symbol highlighted in purple in A is a symbol for INDIVIDUAL HEALING. This is indicative of the core of ASANTE GENDER ACTION as change is hinged on personal transformation, the transformation of others and gender norms, and hence community and society. The symbol placement at the beginning of the logo is thus significant.

Font – FUTURA is a popular and classic sans-serif font which is geared to create an internationally recognisable brand with a slightly unconventional and personable character, which is reflective of the mission of the organisation.

Use of logo

Always use the logo in correct proportions and do not alter, tilt or stretch the image. Wherever possible, use the logo in full colour. Please contact us if you would like the logo in colour or black and white format.
